In 2022, artists Rich Sidwick and Mike Palomares of Born and Brewed were named winners of Radio Wigwam’s International Rock and Blues Award. The Duo from Portishead have played together for over 15 years, forming Born and Brewed in 2019.

Combining Americana/Bluegrass/Country Blues with a steely edge, the pair are influenced by artists like Larkin Poe, Johnny Cash, The Dead South and Colter Wall. Mike provides an atmospheric backdrop with his blues guitar, whilst Rich overlays his raspy vocals to provide the smoky quality in their music.

Currently working on their first album Born and Brewed established, it charter’s their authentic journey through music, reflecting on challenges with mental health and addiction. Rich and Mike hope the album raises awareness, promotes discussions, and inspires others to heal. In 2019, Rich’s biggest supporter his father Bob passed away, Born and Brewed Established to honour his memory.
